Casa La Huerta *

Casa La Huerta is a sanctuary of Surrealism honoring the luxury, lifestyle and natural world of Careyes located on the coast of Jaliso, Mexico, just South of Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta.

A study in sensual curves, La Huerta is bathed in the mystery of light and shadow. The color palette is an unexpected contrast of neutrals; dark splashes of graphite highlight the neutral color of the villa, a departure from the classically colorful homes of Careyes. This calming wash of neutrals allows the structure to act as a living canvas for the magic of the natural environment. The entire atmosphere shape shifts throughout the day and into evening, first welcoming you with the cool blue shadows of dawn, transforming into a golden wash of sunset hues as the day progresses and the galaxy of stars appear. From afar at night, La Huerta is a beacon on the hill of warm candlelight, its monochromatic palette creating an enveloping glow that beckons you like a moth to a flame.

With 6 gracious monochromatic suites, an authentic Mongolian Yurt, and two additional multipurpose rooms, La Huerta can accommodate up to 16 guests. The sensual, sculptural approach to form and function make the interior spaces as spectacular as the exterior.

Drawing upon the rich culture, artistic genius, and ancient roots of Mexican style, interior designer Raven Kauffman curated a stunning and eclectic mix of textiles, pottery, photography, and craftsmanship from the oldest traditions and the newest names in Mexican design.
